The opposition candidates in Somalia have held a meeting in Mogadishu aimed at discussing the electoral process in the country that is going on in some federal member states. The meeting will last three days and is expected to be chaired by the Prime minister.
Some of the Presidential candidates expressed concern on whether the Presidential elections would take place on time, citing the low speed of the upper house electoral process. Abdirahman Abdishakour Warsame, the chairman of Wadajir party said the council will also have a meeting with some of the federal member state leaders regarding this matter.
The Opposition Presidential candidates retreated that they are committed to participate in free and fair elections. Somalia Will have parliamentary and Presidential elections in the next few months.
Some of the federal member states have concluded electing their senator to represent them in the federal upper house of Somalia.
