

Opposition candidates in Somalia have welcomed the appointment of Ghana ex-President John Mahama as the African Union special envoy to Somalia. In a statement they said they will fully cooperate with the envoy and his team and implored other stakeholders to do te same.
The Chairperson of the Commission, H.E Moussa Faki Mahamat, has also encouraged all the Somali stakeholders and the international community to extend every support to the High Representative, who will arrive in the country in the coming days.
