The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, has visited the wounded victims of Friday’s Alshabab attack on Hayat hotel in Mogadishu. He promised that the government would airlift seriously injured people who couldn’t be treated locally to other countries for further medical treatment.
Addressing the media, the Prime minister vowed that the government would take responsibility for what transpired following the Al-Shabaab attack on Hayat Hotel. He thanked the Somali forces for gallantly responding to the attack, and paid tribute to those who lost their lives while trying to save the lives of their fellow Somalis.
He also sent his condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones and prayed for speedy recovery to those injured. According to the Somali Minister of Health Dr. Ali Haji Adan, 21 people were killed and 117 others wounded in the horrific Hayat hotel attack that started on Friday evening and ended 30 hours later.
