

Major General Abdi Hassan Hijar, who is Somalia’s Police Chief held talks with the British Ambassador to Somalia Kate Foster. Initial reports say, the two sides discussed strengthening the capacity of Somali forces to ensure security of the upcoming election which has not yet been timed.
During the meeting which took place at the UK Embassy in Mogadishu, ambassador Kate Foster praised the hard work of the Somali Police Force.
The Police Chief also extended his gratitude to the UK Government for its support to Somalia in general and the Police Force in particular.
The UK government is one of the main supporters of Somalia’s state-building process, including security.
Kate Foster had previously emphasized that the two countries will cooperate in strengthening issues pertaining to Security, Elections and Diplomacy between Somalia and the UK.
