The former Somali police commissioner who was recently appointed to lead the country’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) by prime minister Mohamed Hussein Roble was transferred to serve in the office of state minister for Public Works.
The Prime minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Rooble appointed General Bashir Gobe as the state minister for public works following a pact with President Mohamed Farmaajo Thursday.
The appointment followed Thursday’s agreement to end the months-long feud between Farmaajo and Roble after fall out over the dismissal of former NISA director, Fahad Yasin, prompting Farmaajo and Roble to pick different individuals for the post.
In separate statements issued in September, Farmaajo and Roble appointed Yasin Farey and Bashiir Gobe respectively to head NISA.
According to the agreement inked this week, the two agreed on Yasin Farey to take charge at the agency while Gobe was to be appointed as a state minister. The deal also allowed Security Minister Abdullahi Nur to retain his position.
