A few hours after Al Shabaab claimed responsibility for last night’s suicide bomb in Mogadishu, Somalia’s Prime minister said its time people unite against Alshabab.
Mohamed Hussein Roble expressed a strong statement condemning the suicide attack at a busy restaurant that claimed the lives of civilians. He wished victims who were admitted to hospitals for treatment a quick recovery. Roble reiterated that this action is part of Al Shabaab’s animosity towards the general public.
Alshabab officially claimed responsibility for the explosion at the restaurant killing at least 10 people including Somalia security forces and civilians. Despite the federal government officials’ statements declaring war against Alshabab, the group still remains effective and conducts operations and assassinations in most parts of the country.
On several occasions, Amisiom and the Somalia national army forces pledged to remove the group from their remaining areas. This attack also comes at a time the nation prepares to hold parliamentary and presidential elections during the coming months.
