Mohamed Hussein Roble, the Prime minister of Somalia said the 20th May consultative meeting will take place this week and his team are doing their final preparations. The Prime minister also highlighted the necessity of holding elections in Somalia.
Mohamed Hussein Rooble was designated as responsible for organising elections in the country after the country’s parliament dropped Farmajo’s term extension. But, the minister seems to be facing a challenge from some of the opposition members after they told him to show independence and work towards an inclusive electoral process.
This meeting which is expected to take place on 20th May will be attended by the top federal government officials and the federal member states to explore possibilities of holding free and transparent elections in the horn of africa state.
There were other previous meetings between the federal government and the federal member state over the same matter but ended up with no progress. This forthcoming meeting is also difficult to predict whether it will end with no results or will bring the long awaited solution to the recurrent political crises in Somalia.
