Somalia Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has today left for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a two-day official State visit. He is expected to hold meetings with senior government officials of the UAE government including the Emir and president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan .
The leaders will discuss on ways to strengthen the diplomatic relations between the two countries which has been frosty since 2018.
This will be the first official visit by Somali officials to Dubai since 2018 when the diplomatic ties between Mogadishu and Dubai hit the bottom following the seazure of UAE $9.6m.
Early this month, PM Roble apologized for the seizure of nine million dollars from the United Arab Emirates in April 2018 at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu. Roble promised the UAE government that the money would be returned to the UAE government as soon as possible.
