The federal government of Somalia received 7.65 million Euros from Finland to boost the education standard. According to officials, The grant will be administered through UNICEF Somalia’s education programme.
UNICEF office in Somalia said the program sets ambitious targets to double primary school enrolment, improve the quality of education and strengthen the capacity of government partners to deliver a more equitable education for all children.
The Ministry of education of Somalia said that the contribution would give more children educational opportunities.
Finland government officials noted that his country was extremely pleased to start this partnership with UNICEF for the benefit of Somali children.
In recent years, Somalia has made significant efforts to increase the proportion of children enrolled in quality school services and complete a full cycle of primary education.
