Somalia Ministry of Foreign affairs has said that Somalia is standing with and supporting Jordan’s King Abullah bin All Husein decision to preserve the security and stability of the Kingdom. Jordanian security authorities have arrested dozens of people including former officials for their involvement in what foreign media said was “an alleged conspiracy to depose the king.”
Other regional countries issued statements and messages of support on Sunday to Jordan and its king over measures to safeguard the country’s security and stability following an alleged coup plot the previous day.
In the video released on Saturday, the former crown prince launched an attack against the ruling system, accusing it of corruption, nepotism and misrule. Prince Hamzah said he made the recording to make it clear that he was not part of any “conspiracy or nefarious organisation or foreign-backed group”.
Somalia and Jordan are two members of the Arab league and the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation. The two countries have close diplomatic and economic ties.
