Security forces in Somalia have successfully apprehended an individual accused of committing a tragic act of fatal stabbing against his mother in the Farjanno district of Kismayo. The victim, identified as Halimo Hassan Omar, succumbed to her injuries at Kismayo Hospital, where she was promptly rushed for medical treatment.
According to eyewitness accounts, neighbors swiftly responded to Halimo’s distress calls and immediately intervened, swiftly transporting the wounded woman to the hospital.but, her life could not be saved, and she passed away shortly after receiving medical attention.
The accused perpetrator has been identified as 37-year-old Hassan Abdullahi Abdi Shire. Police have disclosed that Shire recently returned from abroad, as his mother had undertaken the noble endeavor of repatriating him with hopes of providing him a fresh start and an opportunity for rehabilitation.
Law enforcement authorities have expressed deep shock and disbelief at this incident, emphasizing that it is a departure from the prevailing norm in Kismayo. They assure the public that the perpetrator will be held accountable and face justice in accordance with the law.
