Somalia’s internal security minister said government security forces foiled at least two Al Shabaab attacks in Mogadishu and defeated the group. The explosions occurred in Kahda and Dar Al-Salaam neighborhoods.
Al Shabaab has claimed the responsibility of the attack and said two car bombs were involved in the attacks. Casualties and damages have been reported as well as nearby destroyed buildings.
Alshabab wants to overthrow the federal government and to establish an Islamic state with their own interpretations.
The government of Somalia has intensified the war on Alshabab while carrying out military operations in some parts of the country and pledged to remove its members from their remaining hideouts in central and Southern Somalia.
