Somalia’s Jubaland state President Ahmed Madobe, South West president Lafta Gareen and Puntland state president Said Deni have landed in Mogadishu to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
They were received at the airport by MPs from both Houses of the Federal Parliament and other senior government officials.
High level dignitaries drawn from Turkey, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Djibouti and Bahrain have on Tuesday also landed at Mogadishu’s Adan Abdulle International Airport to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Other federal member state leaders are expected to arrive in Mogadishu within the next hours as the Mogadishu main roads were closed and deployed security officials to tighten security for the inauguration ceremony which is scheduled to take place on thursday.
Sources also have it that Heads of State from neighboring countries of Kenya, Djibouti and Ethiopia are expected to grace the occasion. President Mohamud won the Presidency on May 16 in the third after defeating the incumbent President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo by 210 votes against Farmaajo’s 110.
