Somalia’s Ambassador to China addresses security and debt relief at 11th world peace forum

Somalia’s Ambassador to China, Amb. Awale Kullane, delivered a keynote address at the 11th World Peace Forum, shedding light on the significance of maintaining peace and to collaborate against terrorism.

During his address, Amb. Kullane underscored Somalia’s recent strides in the realms of economy, security, and politics, serving as a testament to the nation’s unwavering commitment to a brighter future. Through the National Consultative Council, the Federal Government of Somalia has steadfastly prioritized political dialogues and constructive deliberations, resulting in notable advancements in governance, resource allocation, fiscal federalism, and national security.

He proudly acknowledged the efforts of Somalia’s security forces in combatting terrorist organizations, a collaborative endeavor that has led to the liberation of numerous villages, thanks to the active involvement of local communities.

The Ambassador also placed considerable emphasis on the imperative of inclusive and participatory democracy, particularly through the facilitation of one-person, one-vote elections. In terms of economic progress, Amb. Kullane drew attention to the significant milestones achieved, including debt relief secured through the Initiative for Heavily Indebted Poor Countries.
