Somalia minister for Defense Abdikadir Mohamed Nuur and the country’s military chief, Gen. Odawa Yussuf Rage have traveled to central Somalia region to intensify operations against al-Shabaab fighters. Both officials who reached Beledweyne on Sunday town have held talks with the military commanders in the Hiiraan region.
The minister thanked the commanders and the soldiers who fought al-Shabaab fighters in this region and praised them for liberating some villages from Alshabab.
On his part, Gen Rage vowed the operations against al-Shabab will continue until the group is ousted from the remaining areas. He said his troops have the strength to defeat Alshabab and the country could only get peace when al-Shabaab is defeated.
