The Security affairs of Somalia’s Hirshabelle state has sent a warning message to the public forbidding them from taking orders from Alshabab, if anyone fails to comply with the directives of the administration, that person will be regarded as Alshabab member, the administration statement threatens.
Regional security forces were also permitted to make arrests against individuals who secretly work with Alshabab or take their orders that include paying tax and bring them to justice to face their charges against them.
The Hirshabelle state said the new order is part of the federal government’s directives intended to weaken the power of Alshabab in the community. The order also came after local elders recently claimed they had reached agreement with Alshabab.
However, a Somalia military court has started hearing the charges against three elders who were among those who reached agreement with Alshabab in Harardheere, a town which was recently liberated by the government forces.
