Somalia’s Hirshabelle state President, Alu Guudlaawe has pledged to repair wells that were allegedly destroyed by Alshabab members before fleeing the region.
Guudlaawe and other regional officials who paid a visit to the district affirmed that there were no educational or health facilities in the neighborhoods they visited, and promised that the civilian infrastructure would be restored in Adan Yabal.
A few days ago, the Somali National Army (SNA), along with local militias known as Ma’awisley, captured Adan Yabaal town, a longtime Al Shabaab stronghold about 220 kilometres north of the capital Mogadishu.
According to the federal government, Run Nirgood, the only village held by al Shabab in the Middle Shabelle region, would be liberated in the coming days.
