Somalia’s Hirshabelle state president Ali Guudlaawe has sacked two members of his cabinet for unknown reasons. The dismissed ministers are the minister of Trade and Industry, Yahye Ismail Mohamed, and the Minister of Constitution, Qader Hassan Mohamed.
The President did not explain why the ministers were fired, and he did not nominate any replacements. Last Thursday, Hirshabelle regional state Minister of Reconciliation, Abdikarin Ali Nur, officially announced his resignation, citing the regional President’s failure to follow through on a commitment he made during his visit to Beledweyne town in February this year.
He accused the President of failing to correct the state’s political power-sharing agreement, which has long been a cause of concern for Hiraan residents.
