The Somalia National Army’s special forces, DANAB, staged a raid on a roadblock which Al-Shabaab used to extort money from the local people near Labi-Kus village under Kismayo town on Sunday.
The National army forces confirmed to State media that three members of the group were killed and one was captured alive. The security officials added that the sting operation managed to recover various weapons including four AK47 guns and one BKM gun.
The officials also stated that Al-Shabaab levied vehicles passing through the area and that they had a storage area called ‘sakawad’, where livestock taken from the locals were kept. SNA has vowed to continue the fight against Alshabab, warning that the operation will go on until the area is liberated from Al-Shabaab.
