Ibrahim Sheikh Muhiyaddin, the recently appointed national armed chief of Somalia, embarked on an inspection of several frontlines in the Galgaduud region. Accompanied by high-ranking military officials from Somalia and the United States Africom, this visit was aimed at evaluating ongoing military efforts in the area and assessing the living conditions of the armed forces in preparation for the imminent second phase of the anti-Al Shabaab campaign.
It also intended to gauge the progress achieved by the Somalia army forces and to encourage them to redouble their efforts in consolidating peace and security throughout the nation. The army chief expressed his appreciation for the latest advancements made by the armed forces and emphasized the importance of readiness to eliminate the threat posed by Al Shabaab during the forthcoming second phase operation.
The President of Somalia had previously declared his intention to commence the second phase of operations against Al Shabaab, following the government’s claim of victory in the preceding war. According to federal government officials, These upcoming military actions are expected to play a crucial role in further stabilizing the country and mitigating the influence of Alshabab.
