The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud addressed the 36th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Ethiopia. His speech focused on Somalia‘s key priorities, such as countering international terrorism and promoting inclusive politics.
Hassan Sheikh told the head of states of the summit that he will work during his new term on fighting terrorism, creating job opportunities for Somali youths and developing the economy. He called for cooperation between African Union member states in overcoming key challenges ahead of the continent.
The President also pointed to tackling climate change, spurring economic growth, and the Somali government’s keenness to enhance collaboration with the AU, its Member States, and other valuable partners to make Somalia, Africa, and the entire world a safer and more prosperous place for all.
