The president of the South West state of Somalia, Abdi Asis Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen has pardoned 17 prisoners who were accused of various crimes on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the South West government.
The prisoners were released from Baidoa Prison, and the president paid off various debts owed by the prisoners and they have fully recovered their freedoms. The Minister of Justice in the South West together with the police officers and the judiciary jointly supervised the central prison in the city of Baydhabo where the pardoned prisoners were released from.
The chief of the South West Police Force Adan Ali Mahamed showed gratitude to the president for pardoning the prisoners as the state celebrates its fourth anniversary.
On his part, the Minister of Justice advised the released prisoners to keep out of trouble and desist from any activities that could bring them back to the prison.
