

Abdirahman Abdishaku, the special envoy for drought in Somalia has met with the Islamic development bank’s Vice President Zamir Iqbal. The two sides discussed ways to find funds and support the people affected by the drought.
Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame, assured the Bank’s working with Somalia to promote socio-economic development and prosperity of the country. He urged for intensifying assistance to those affected by the drought.
The Somali government received 40 containers of food aid from the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, amid concern over famine in Somalia. Both the government and the United Nations repeatedly called on the international community to extend urgent support to the victims.
