The Southwest state’s technical committee for the upcoming reconciliation conference in Baidoa has formally declared that 16 January to be the starting date of the reconciliation conference which is expected to bring solution to the current political impasse in the state.
The technical committee for the reconciliation conference asked all invited people that included political stakeholders and intellectuals who have not yet reached Baidoa to keep the date and arrive on time in order to refrain from delays.
According to the committee, the meeting is expected to last two weeks and expressed optimism to end with successful agreements to conclude the topical political differences over regional elections as oppositions urging a timely election.
The Speaker of the house of representatives for Somalia, Sheikh Adam Madoobe who is taking a lion’s share of bringing opposing sides on the negotiation table has held separate meetings with all sides and convinced opposition to remove their militia from the Baidoa which is hosting the conference.
