A Twitter statement made by The United Nation’s assistance mission in Somalia noted that full participation of Federal member states is necessary for the ongoing summit to produce consensus on implementation of the 17 September agreement.
The UN on its handle said it noted that yesterday’s pre-meeting for the planned summit with partial federal member states representation could lead to an inconsequential torpedo in the horn of Africa country.
Both Jubbaland and Puntland leaders failed to attend yesterday’s pre-meeting held in Mogadishu’s Aden Adde airport, claiming they were not officially invited.
The meeting continues for the second day, however the international community pressures Somali leaders to stay in Mogadishu to solve the differences over elections.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo’s term ended on 8 February this year and the opposition parties accused of failing to hold elections on time.
