The Somaliland ruling party Kulmiye yesterday confirmed that they are in the final stages of preparation for the party’s 4th grand convention which is expected to hold early next month.
The party’s convention committee said they will give prominence to the health risks of participants due to threats posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The chairman of the convention organising committee, Abdikareem Ahmed Mohamed (Hinif) who addressed the media at the Kulmiye’s headquarters in Hargeisa emphasised that one of the steps planned for the convention is to provide seat numbers to each delegate and participant and advised them to follow the laid-down guidelines.
Last month, the Somaliland ruling party announced a set date for the much awaited grand convention of the party. The date announced then was 4th October and it will be hosted in Hargeisa; the convention had been previously postponed due to the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Kulmiye was founded in 2002 and it has been the ruling party for the last decade since it came to power in 2010.
