Political tension remains high in Somaliland for the past 24 hours as the government and opposition parties disagreed about the time to kick start registration of political associations.
Former Somaliland ministers have officially joined the growing political tension in the country and hailed the government’s announcement on reopening registration of political associations. The former ministers said the government has made the right choice and more politicians will be able to form their political associations.
Saleban Hagla-toosiye, a former Somaliland minister of health, extended gratitude to the government for declaring that the political association law is effective and whoever is in interest to form a political association can establish it.
The former minister of education Abdullahi Habane believes that the public needs this law to be effective and a number of politicians have been waiting for this opportunity for almost 10 years. These statements came after a few hours of political dispute emerged concerning the reopening time of the registration of political associations.
