The former President of Ghana, who is also the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has assured the youth that his administration will work to take Ghana to its deserved place among other members of the international community.
Mahama said the fallen image of the Black Star of Ghana would be resuscitated.
Speaking at a new-year church service, the former Ghanaian president said that as long as he remains in politics, he will give all it takes to strengthen the good image of the West African country.
As some youth are losing hope in the country due to its struggling economic situation, Mahama vowed to leave Ghana in a better place and do his best so that the younger generation can have a future.
Ahead of the presidential election in Ghana, Mr. Mahama urged the youth to exercise their constitutional rights and help restore hope in the country.
Ghana is facing its worst economic downturn in decades. In 2023, Accra secured a bailout program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) worth $3 billion as part of efforts to ease the raging economic troubles.
The West African country has already received the first tranche of $600m after the IMF approved the bailout program.
