The Djibouti government has reacted to the imputation by the government of Somalia on Thursday that Djibouti is waging a campaign to undermine Somalia’s independence within the African Union Peace and Security Council.
Djibouti minister of information clarified that his government backs AU’s decision to condemn Farmajo’s term extension into two years and Somalia has its own political interest allegations to Djibouti. Ridwan Abdullahi Bahdon, the Minister of information for Djibouti strongly criticized the recent remarks by his counterpart Abukar Osman Dube for blaming Djibouti undermining Somalia’s sovereignty.
Ridwan said Djibouti has done alot for Somalia to contribute in peacebuilding and statehood for the past decades while citing the Arta conference. He also spotlighted that his country still commits to proceed contributions to their neighbouring country.
