The National Electoral commission of Somaliland has formally kicked off the voter cards distribution in Maroodi’jeeh, Togdheer and Awdal regions where many people have turned up their allocated areas to pick their voter cards.
According to the Electoral commission officials, People who were registered in the recently concluded voter registration process and those registered in 2016 who didn’t obtain voter cards will be eligible to take part in the work out.
The officials also advised the Public to take duties and get their voter cards before the deadline. Recently the National Electoral commission concluded the voter registration distribution in Sahil, Sool and Sanaag regions where thousands had picked their voter cards.
This will be one of the last preparations of the Somaliland Electoral Commision ahead of the polling day on 31 May of this year. The three national parties; Kulmiye, Waddani and Ucid will compete for the parliamentary and local council elections.
