

Students die after a lorry rams into a classroom in Uganda
Four students have been confirmed dead after a lorry rammed into their classroom at Kasaka secondary school near the capital, Kampala victim was crushed beyond recognition and the remains will be identified after DNA analysis.
According to Uganda police, the lorry driver lost control and drove through the school fence before hitting the school’s computer laboratory which was occupied by students.
Four students died while at least 18 other learners were injured in the incident. The lorry got nearly halfway into the building and tore up part of the roof.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, has been arrested to help with investigations. Learning has been suspended for a week and the students were sent home.
A similar incident happened on March 2, 2023, when a canter truck crashed into the perimeter wall of Candy Kids Nursery and Primary School in Kamuli, Kiira Municipality- killing 7-year-old Robina Nakafero, a Primary Two pupil.
