

The annual partnership meeting between the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and Sweden is currently taking place in Djibouti. The event was inaugurated by H.E. Mohamed Abdi Ware, Deputy Executive Secretary of IGAD, and H.E. Ambassador Hans Henric Lundquist, the Ambassador of Sweden to Ethiopia, Djibouti, and IGAD.
Together, the representatives from IGAD and Sweden are engaging in discussions focused on the IGAD-Sweden project portfolio, which aims to enhance regional development for the benefit of the people in the region.
During the inauguration, H.E. Mohamed Abdi Ware expressed his honor in co-chairing the IGAD-Sweden Annual Partnership Meeting alongside Ambassador Hans Lundquist.
He was accompanied by H.E. Joachim Beijmo, Head of Regional Development Cooperation, Africa.
The meeting featured a comprehensive overview and discussion on the programs supported by Sweden within IGAD, particularly in areas such as Peace and Security, Building Resilience, and Social and Economic Development.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening this significant partnership and continuing the dialogue for mutual benefit.
