Somaliland’s president Muse Bihi today Joined the The EU ambassador to Somalia Nicholas Berlanga in the celebration of Europe Day 2020.
President Bihi and Ambassador Nicolas Berlanga both made short speeches at the video conference streamed online.
In his statement, ambassador Berlanga alluded to the talks between Somaliland and Somalia. Drawing parallels with the European Union experience, Ambassador Berlanga urged Somaliland to work on reaching agreements to solve the problems of its citizens and fulfilling their aspirations. He further expressed the EU’s willingness to assist in that process.
The EU envoy emphasized the strong relationships between the two parties and commitment to further develop it.
The ambassador’s remarks join the chorus of the international community that are pushing for talks between Somalia and Somalia.
