Kenya’s Health Minister, Mutahi Kagwe, is worried that the popularity of the hit song Jerusalema has led to the disregard of Covid-19 restrictions in entertainment spots.
He said the Jerusalema dance challenge was being performed in bars by patrons who do not adhere to social distancing.
The Jerusalema dance challenge has become a global sensation during the coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Kagwe recounts that once the dance gets in; all [safety] measures go out. He however added that one could still dance Jerusalema while keeping social distance.
Kenyan MPs are set to release their version of the dance challenge on Tuesday.
Kenya reported 685 new virus cases on Sunday and 616 cases on Saturday. The country has reopened bars, schools, and churches.
