In a security operation, Mogadishu’s law enforcement authorities intercepted a vehicle laden with explosives. The spokesperson for the Police Force, Sadiq Dodishe, informed local media outlets that, concurrently, two individuals affiliated with the Al-Shabab group were apprehended.
The intercepted car detonated shortly after the security forces had disembarked the aforementioned suspects. The police said, Fortunately, there were no casualties resulting from the explosion. The vehicle had initially aroused suspicion during a routine patrol conducted by vigilant security personnel.
Dodishe underscored that Alshabab had undertaken a clandestine effort to smuggle the explosive-laden vehicle into Mogadishu.
security agencies have previously issued warnings regarding Al-Shabab’s persistent attempts to inflict harm upon civilians in Mogadishu, presumably in response to their diminishing success on the frontline
