Nigerian Police arrest criminals linked to Christmas eve attacks in Plateau State

The Nigerian Police have arrested and paraded three suspects linked with the Christmas eve attacks on Plateau State communities, in central Nigeria.

Heavy arms seized from the suspects were also paraded by the police.

The police Force said the suspects are: Ahmed Suleiman, Balikisu Aliyu and Aboki Samuel.

Recall that nearly 200 people were killed while several houses were burnt to ashes during the multiple attacks on communities in Bokkos Local Government and Barkin Ladi Local Government areas of the state.

The attacks generated condemnations from within and outside Nigeria and reawakened the call for lasting peace in the state.

The Nigerian president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu demanded an immediate investigation while vowing to secure the country from non-state actors.

Some of the listed arms and other items recovered from the suspects by the police are: one ash-coloured golf car, one AK-47 rifle, one AK-49 rifle, 1000 rounds of live ammunition and five magazines.

Other criminals were also paraded by the police as the security agency intensified efforts in securing the country.

The police in the West African country pledged to arrest other suspects involved in other attacks in the country and bring them to justice.
