The President of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo met with the newly appointed cabinet members in his office and applauded the Prime Minister for giving women and youth a key role in his cabinet.
This is the first meeting between the president and newly appointed cabinet since the Prime Minister of Somalia announced his cabinet members.
The Prime minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Robleh named his cabinet on Monday evening. The cabinet consists of 26 ministers and 17 deputies.
The new cabinet has new faces and some members from the outgoing cabinet. Though there are key ministers who were left out including former Minister of Information Mohamed Hayir Maareeye and the Minister of Security Mohamed Islow.
This new cabinet members will be presented before the parliament for approval before they can formally assume their positions.
