Villa Somalia reported that the discussion encompassed a range of critical topics, including the need to reduce regional tensions, focus on counterterrorism objectives, and finalize planning for a successor mission to the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
It also highlighted the U.S. and Somalia commitment to addressing security challenges in the region. Both parties emphasized the importance of reducing regional tensions, particularly in the context of counterterrorism efforts.
The duo talked about the significance of the post-ATMIS period, indicating a shared interest in ensuring a smooth transition and continued stability in Somalia.
