The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamse Abdi Barre, visited the Dolow district of Gedo region to observe the humanitarian situation caused by the torrential rains that fell in some regions of the country.
The Prime Minister who spoke in public to the leaders of the region and the people of the city, said that the government is closely monitoring the situation and is actively working to address the challenges posed by the ongoing floods.
He said that the floods are still going on, people need to be careful not to return to the affected areas, and they need to be aware, they are working hard to resolve the situation.
Also,the Prime Minister promised that he will visit other cities in the region, and he said that the government of Somalia will re-build bridges in Bardhere, Burdhubo and Luuq as soon as possible to restore security, peace and social mobility.
The Prime Minister’s visit comes at a time when the country’s regions have been hit by heavy rains, while some airports in the country have been closed. floods and winds have affected people, and caused damage in several areas.
