Somalia: 10-Female Team to Inspect Roads in Bidoa

A 10-member team comprising only women has been selected to inspect roads in the city of Bidoa. Yusuf Barre, Deputy Finance manager of the Bidaoa city council and Hassan Ma’al Ahmed Bikole, Council Chairman of the city organized the team to take a tour of the entire city roads of which some were recently constructed while others have undergone maintenance and repairs to mitigate the terrible state of the roads.

The ten women were selected from ten of the various districts and areas Bidoa city is made up of. Their job is to inspect the roads and share their feedback with the local press.

Speaking to the press and local TVs, they expressed how happy they felt about the government’s achievement in the areas of infrastructure building and maintenance.

They praised the government in general and the organisers of the sightseeing tour in particular. ‘We’re so excited about the recent development in the city. However, we expect the government to continue in the path of progress and reconstruction policy,’ the said.

Mr Ma’alin says the primary purpose of the city tour by the ten women was to see the city improved roads from a close proximity and to experience them by themselves.

The women toured the roads near money exchangers, beds bazaar, and livestock market.

The women were very happy after they witnessed how serious their government was in achieving the development targets the government set and fights to meet.
