In a coordinated effort, the federal government forces of Somalia, in collaboration with local pro-government militia, claimed to have successfully executed targeted operations against Al-Shabaab members in the Mudug region. These operations have reportedly resulted in the demise of 25 Al-Shabaab members.
The coalition forces proudly announced the liberation of Gaaday and Shabeelow areas from Al-Shabaab’s grip. However, they have not disclosed any information regarding casualties on their side incurred during these operations.
According to an official report released by the government, the defense forces have effectively neutralized Al-Shabaab threats by destroying their vehicles and hideouts in the region. Furthermore, emerging reports suggest that similar counterterrorism operations have been conducted against Al-Shabaab in Kuridhi and Qoriiley, which are west of Amara town.
Over recent weeks, there has been a notable increase in security operations within the Mudug region. The government forces have been steadfast in their efforts to reclaim and secure territories previously held by Al-Shabaab in this region.
