Somalia Government Condemns Ankara Attack

The Government of Somalia has issued a strong condemnation of the recent suicide bombing in Ankara, Turkey, referring to it as a “cowardly attack.” Somalia expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families.

In an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Somalia reiterated its solidarity with Turkey in the face of terrorism, emphasizing the urgent need for global unity and joint efforts in the fight against terrorism.

President Hassan Sheikh of Somalia criticized the attack, describing it as an act of evil cowardice targeting innocent lives. He expressed unwavering determination to stand united against terrorism.

The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), banned by Turkey and its Western allies, claimed responsibility for the Ankara suicide bombing. The group, which initiated armed resistance against the Turkish state in 1984 with the aim of establishing an independent socialist Kurdish state in the claimed Kurdistan region, continues to be a source of conflict in southeastern Turkey
