The national army forces commander of Somalia Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuyadin has formally announced a plan to resume military operations against Alshabab to liberate more villages from the group.
He said the operations will be carried out both the federal government armed forces and the regional armed forces and local pro government forces to restart the operations after it was tempararly halted during the holy of month of Ramadan.
He also asked the public to refrain taking dircetives from Alshabab as well as paying any financial fees that the group imposes them. a move that the federal government believes could weaker the capabilities of Alshabab.
The statement came a days after residents raised questions about reasons behind of halting the ongoing operations against Alshabab which a few months ago was among the government’s prime agendas.
