

Somalia’s parliament on Wednesday approved the newly appointed Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble who was appointed last week after a delay of almost two months.
The Parliament gave their assent after a special meeting was held to discuss the approval of the recently appointed Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble. The parliament gave a unanimous endorsement of the new PM Mohamed Hussein Roble. All 215 MPs present at the session voted in favour of the appointment.
Mohamed Abdillahi Farmajo, the President of Somalia and the Prime Minister held separate meetings with the leadership of the two houses of Somalia to seek the much needed endorsement within the last hours.
Earlier this week, Mohamed Hussein Roble appealed to the parliament for endorsement by approving his appointment. Addressing the media for the first time since he was appointed, he said the swift endorsement by the parliament will allow him to form a new cabinet without further ado.
Ahmed Madobe, the Jubaland state leader of Somalia has backed the recently appointed Prime minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble. He called on the members of the federal parliament to support him, describing Mr Roble as a competent person to head the office.
The much-awaited move now is when the new prime minister will form his cabinet ministers and also implement the recently concluded agreement on electoral mode between the Federal Government and its member states which was inked hours before he was appointed to the position of prime minister.
