The Somalia President Mohamed Farmajo has travelled to South Sudan’s Capital Juba where he will attend the signing of Sudan’s peace deal between the government and the rebels.
Mohamed Abdillahi Farmajo has joined other regional leaders to attend the historical signing of Sudan’s peace agreement between the government and the rebels in Juba, the capital city of South Sudan.
Mogadishu says the Government of South Sudan extended an official invitation to the event to President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, to commemorate the diplomatic role played by the Federal Republic of Somalia in these peace talks.
Sudan’s government and rebels are set to sign a landmark peace deal in a bid to end decades of war in which hundreds of thousands have died.
Ending Sudan’s internal conflicts has been a top priority of the transition government in power since last year’s removal of longtime ruler Omar al-Bashir amid a popular uprising.
