Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamse Abdi Barre, undertook a partial restructuring of his cabinet today. The Prime Minister, through his official office, announced the dismissal of two ministers and the subsequent appointment of replacements.
Notably, the Prime Minister suspended the ministers of agriculture and public works and housing for reasons undisclosed. In response, Mohamed Abdi Hayir has been designated to lead the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, while Abdisalam Abdi Ali assumes responsibility for the Ministry of Public Works and Housing.
This reshuffling occurs against the backdrop of existing vacancies in key federal government ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Internal Security, and the Ministry of Women Affairs.
