The Somalia National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has received a contribution of $150,000 from the government of China. The donation is intended to provide vital assistance to areas that have recently been liberated from Al-Shabaab, as well as to support drought-affected communities in Somalia.
The handover of the donation took place at SoDMA’s headquarters in Mogadishu, where Chinese Ambassador Fei Shengchao presented the funds to SoDMA Commissioner Mohamud Maalim Abdulle.
The allocated funds will be utilized to supply essential provisions such as food and water to the drought-affected Somalis. It will also aid SoDMA in its endeavors to provide much-needed relief and assistance to those facing hardship.
Officials from the Somalia Disaster Management Agency view this substantial contribution from the Chinese government as a significant milestone in the collaboration between Somalia and China concerning disaster management and the efficient distribution of aid.
According to the officials, The donation also stands as a testament to the robust bilateral relations shared between the two nations.
