Jubba, 01 november, 2018 Somalia’s autonomies are now overstepping their mandate and limiting Somalia’s authority, through engaging in diplomatic relations with other countries as independent governments, said Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdilahi Farmaajo.
These autonomies now want to meet heads of state such as South Sudan’s president Salva Kiir, as self-governments that are not part of Somalia. Speaking to Somali business community members in Jubba, South Sudan, President Farmaajo said it is a shameful behavior that shows the mess Somalia and its government are in. “Their intention is to join the politics of Somalia in order to enrich themselves, by saying how unfair it is that the president’s tribe dominates the country’s power. Their interest is not to serve the people,’ said president Farmaajo.
He called on Somali community to work towards rebuilding their country and restoring their dignity in order to earn respect from the international community.
He was in South Sudan for the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) mediated peace talks.
