While talking to the state media, The Minister of Finance of Somalia, Bihi Iman Egeh said that the government’s budget has increased by %25 indicating that the Government can pay the staff salary without the need of support.
The Minister noted that the Government has paid the last two months of salary without support which Somalia mostly depended on in the past, acknowledging that the internal revenue has solved the salary of the government staff.
He urged the Somali people to pay their taxes and hold the government accountable so that the government and its people have a transparent economy and accelerate the rebuilding of the country.
Minister Egeh said that Somalia has reached a milestone due to the debt relief and the public should not politicize the long-term process. The Minister pointed out that the successes they are making came because they started to fight corruption and that has changed a lot for the financial system of their country.
