Somalia’s Galmudug state President continues tour to frontlines

The President of Galmudug state of Somalia, Ahmed Abdi Kaariye (QoorQoor), along with Federal Minister for Defence Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur and regional officials, continues his tour of the frontlines and military bases in the southern Mudug region.

He visited the frontlines where the regional army carried out operations and was reportedly liberated from Alshabab’s grip. The regional leader pledged to intensify his counterterrorism efforts until the last Alshabab hideout is destroyed.

While addressing the 27th Abu Dujana units, President Qoorqoor lauded the forces for their resilience and dedication. He acknowledged those who swiftly returned from their brief breaks to continue fulfilling their duties to the Somali people.

Qoorqoor underscored the importance of their sacrifices, emphasizing that they play a crucial role in safeguarding their nation’s people, honor, and dignity. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud recently entrusted the Galmudug leader with overseeing the military offensive in the central regions during his overseas trip to Eritrea.
